John Buchan Reconsidered and other news

It’s been a busy spring season in the media, with promotion for the new book of essays, John Buchan Reconsidered, edited by Marcus Paul, and the publication of The Strange Stories of John Buchan, edited by James Machin. An extensive page-and-a-half review of both titles appeared in the Times Literary Supplement on February 20th. There was a memorable programme about JB’s The Thirty-Nine Steps on BBC4, with actor John Hannah narrating the novel (https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002rxp2/the-read-series-4-the-39-steps-the-read-with-john-hannah) before a showing of the Hitchcock film. And meanwhile we are making final preparations for the Society’s annual social gathering this month, to be held in Watford, with AGM and dinners, talks from Ursula Buchan and Dr Pilvi Rajamae, and a visit to Susan Buchan’s family home, Moor Park.
